An innovative product deserves evaluation through the business problem it solves, not the novelty of its terminology. The best-fit supplier can demonstrate a useful workflow, explain its limitations and support the buyer after the pilot. Compare candidates against the same operating task before deciding whether a new approach improves on the current process.

## Define the baseline and the desired change

Describe how the task works today, including the people involved and the main friction. Identify what improvement would matter: less manual preparation, clearer information or a more reliable handover, for example. Use the buyer's own baseline rather than adopting a vendor's generic efficiency figure.

Separate essential requirements from exploratory possibilities. A product may offer many interesting functions while failing the one task that justifies the purchase. Keep the evaluation focused enough that the team can determine whether the core use works before expanding the scope into a broad transformation programme.

## Compare current capability

Ask each supplier to perform the same representative task using an appropriate test environment. Identify manual work performed behind the demonstration and dependencies provided by the sales team. The buyer should understand whether it is evaluating a product function, a managed service or a combination.

Record available features separately from roadmap items. Ask what configuration or custom development is needed for the proposed result. A candid explanation of a limitation can be more useful than an expansive promise that leaves the customer unable to estimate implementation effort or acceptance risk.

## Evaluate the operating relationship

Review support, update communication and access to usable records. Ask how the supplier handles an incorrect output, a failed integration or the departure of its main contact. For a young company, continuity depends on the actual arrangements it can demonstrate, not simply on its funding story or founder profile.

Use references from comparable implementations where available. If the product is genuinely new, acknowledge the limited reference evidence and design a bounded pilot accordingly. Do not invent a customer history or treat a small trial as proof of large-scale performance.

## Choose with an exit path

Compare the full cost of implementation, usage and support using stated assumptions. Confirm how the buyer can stop the service and recover the records it needs. Select the candidate whose demonstrated value and manageable dependencies justify adoption. This is an evidence-based purchasing decision, not an endorsement of every company described as part of the UAE's new economy.
