A wellbeing proposal deserves clarification when it blends services, makes sweeping health claims or leaves employee information handling unclear. These warning signs are reasons to assess the offer more carefully, not automatic proof that the supplier is unsuitable. The buyer should understand the exact activity and participant journey before launch.

## A broad wellness label hiding different services

Ask the provider to list each activity, delivering entity and professional role. General education, beauty services and clinical care should not be treated as interchangeable benefits. Identify the appropriate verification and review route for each proposed component.

Be cautious about unrestricted substitutions. A new facilitator, venue or service can change the scope and access conditions even if the supplier keeps the same programme name.

## Guaranteed health or productivity results

Ask what evidence supports a claim and whether it applies to the particular service and workforce. Attendance and positive feedback do not by themselves establish improved health or reduced absence. Avoid using supplier marketing language as a forecast for the employer's programme.

For example, a short educational session may be useful and well received without proving a lasting change in clinical outcomes. The proposal should describe what it actually delivers rather than imply more certainty than its evidence supports.

## Intrusive or unexplained reporting

Review what information the provider collects and what reaches the employer. Have the privacy and legal owners assess the actual arrangement. More detailed employee data is not automatically a better programme measure, particularly when it concerns individual service or health information.

Ask how participants can raise concerns without disclosing sensitive details to their manager. An unclear complaint route can discourage employees from reporting a problem even when the service is voluntary.

## A benefit employees cannot realistically use

Check participating locations, hours, booking capacity, exclusions and extra charges. A high nominal discount or large activity count can be poor value if access does not fit the workforce. Require the supplier to explain actual availability rather than rely on a catalogue.

Keep clarifications in the agreement and employee communication. If a material issue remains unresolved, revise the offer before purchasing or promoting it. A transparent programme may have limits the employer accepts; an ambiguous one leaves employees to discover those limits during a personal service experience.
