An operator or site contact can report a need without automatically becoming authorised to purchase a different machine or change its approved use. The supplier should understand that boundary before receiving informal requests.
For a hypothetical project extension, ask whether the machine will continue performing the same approved task under the same conditions. A longer rental may need only a commercial revision, while a changed task requires appropriate technical assessment as well. Procurement should not assume the answer.
