In brief
A laundry performance review should show whether the customer consistently receives the right usable textiles. A high volume processed is not enough if sorting errors, late returns or unresolved shortages disrupt operations. Use a few measures tied to the contract, supported by examples that explain the cause and practical effect of exceptions.

Track on-time usable returns
Measure the return against the agreed receiving window and usable quantity. Distinguish a complete acceptable delivery from a partial return or a batch needing substantial rewash. Record the collection reference so the result can be traced to the underlying handover rather than a general impression at month end.
Separate supplier delays from customer access problems and unplanned volume changes. This does not remove accountability; it identifies the action that can improve the next cycle. A missed receiving appointment may require a site-process change, while a recurring route delay needs a supplier response.
Monitor stock discrepancies with context
Track unresolved missing items, allocation errors and damage claims using the contract's quantity basis. Review the age of open cases as well as their number. A small discrepancy left unresolved for weeks can create more administrative work than a larger issue corrected promptly with clear evidence.
Keep ordinary wear separate where the evidence supports that distinction. The starting inventory and condition record help interpret replacements over time. Avoid treating every retired item as processing damage or every unexplained shortage as normal loss without investigation.
Review quality and rewash patterns
Record why items are returned for correction and whether the same issue recurs. Inspect whether the agreed recovery process restores usable stock within the required period. A declining complaint count may reflect improved service, but it can also mean busy staff stopped reporting; discuss the evidence with receiving users.
Include invoice accuracy and the clarity of collection records. These measures expose avoidable effort in the customer's team. A supplier that processes well but sends inconsistent documentation may need a reporting improvement rather than a change to the cleaning service itself.
Agree focused corrective actions
Choose the issues with the greatest operational effect and assign an owner, action and review date. Check whether the correction worked using subsequent cycles. Preserve the record for renewal and capacity discussions. The performance meeting should improve textile availability and accountability, rather than producing a score that neither party can connect to everyday service.
